How to modify my vendor list ?

Hi everyone !

Completely new to Orion, I started the long documentation reading along with improving the existing NPM v10 we've got here. My first goal is to improve the polling / trap info between NPM and the various devices I administer : Riverbed, BlueCoat, Nokia, Octel etc... I found some vids explaining how to work with OIDs and applying them but I'm stuck on one simple thing : How can I get more vendor groups ? I couldn't find that one so if anyone could help..

Hi Tom,
Is the problem that the devices are showing up under "Unknown"? If so just let us know what it is on this thread.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the answer. In fact, my "problem" was that some products were shown under curious vendor names. More specifically for my Bluecoat SG/AV proxies that were under CacheFlow Inc (which seems to be an old vendor name for some BC products). I realized that my problem solved itself by upgrading the MIB on my Riverbed products. Would the vendor name be updated through MIB update or is this just info given by my devices through SNMP polling ?

I f the updated MIB points to the 1.3.1.4.1.3417 branch then it will correctly show up as Bluecoat.
Riverbed uses the 1.3.1.4.1.17163 branch
I the vendor update moves the old branches to these branches, you will see the correct names.

I'll ask support for formatting the latest BlueCoat MIB.
