    Create custom page

    MrSampsonite

Is there any way to create a custom page/tab that has the reports/graphs that I want instead of taking over one of the existing ones? I'd rather not hijack the summary tab of NPM but would like to create one called "Issues" that shows errors, discards, down objects, etc.

      Thanks.

Currently you are not able to create your own tabs.  What you could do is create a list of links on a single page that link to you reports though the "Reports" menu item pretty much does this already.  Alternatively you could create a single view that has all of your reports displayed on it.

          Hope this helps!

What do you mean create a view?

That's too bad about creating custom tabs. Seems like a great feature. Everything else is pretty dynamic.

Side question: anyone know of a timeline to make the graphs more Web 2.0-ish? Meaning things like dragging timeline to zoom in on, showing actual data when hovering over a graph point, etc? It's too bad in the 3 years since I used Orion this still is not there. Makes investigations take much longer to have to type in data.

In the admin section of WebUI there is an option called "Manage Views".  Here you can go in and create different views/dashboards.  In those dashboards you can embed your reports as a resource.

There is a feature request for this though if I am not mistaken SolarWinds is looking at the alternate solution of allowing custom drop-downs (can't remember where I read this so hopefully I am not making it up).

I have submitted this as a feature request as well, you can see it Interactive Graphs.

Where do I then view those "views"?

Well, you can manually edit the URL with the proper ViewID to get to them.  The better way to do this would be to add the view to one of your menu bars which you can do from the Admin section of the WebUI with the "Customize Menu Bars" option.

sorry I must be thick. I created a view and added resources. I went to the menu bars admin but it does not show my view as available. I also don't know how to find out the ViewID. SQL query some table?

You should probably read the Orion NPM Admin guide located HERE as it covers a lot of this stuff.

When you go to Manage Views you should be able to preview the view that you have created.  When you are doing that copy the URL.

Now go to the Customize Menu Bars and at the very bottom left here is a button that says Add, click that button and use the URL of the view that you created.

Let me know if this works.

I am thick. I just saw the preview button before you wrote back and saw that it had the ID in it. I copied the URL. Then I went to the menu bar for Admins since that's what' I'm using and added an external site with this URL. Then I realized I had to log out and back in to see the results. Thanks!
