AD Users to be integrated with Orion

Hi!

Has anyone integrated AD users credentials with NPM? I mean we do not have to create user accounts on Orion. Users credentials from the AD could be used to be able to access the Orion.

Also, can I use HTTPs for the Orion Web? I'll be using https but for internal use only I mean it would not be published on the web in public. Do I have to install some things???

currently Orion has some troubles updating when you have https and no http running...
but you can setup https easily, I think its even described in the admin guide.
You just have to change the website binding (and choose a certificate to use, orion comes with at least one but you can use your own) and under ssl setting allow only ssl.
with the current "AD-integration" which is just pass-through authentification you dont get around creating and setting up users... its just that you dont have to enter a password. I think AD-integration has been planned to be integrated for a very long time already and its on the todo list of solarwinds. maybe next version? :)

I've tested the AD integration in the Admin Guide.....Users account in the AD still have to be created in the Orion right? If not, it won't work? only the credentials from the AD are passed?

See the first bullet regarding AD in this post of what we are working on. If you are a current customer of Orion under active maintenance we are currently in beta if you want to try it and kick the tires on it.
