    Adding URL's to Custom Properties

    byrona

Is there a way to make it so that when I add a URL to a custom property that it's click-able?  I want to be able to add URL's to a Custom Property so that my NOC techs can click on it to bring them to Run Book details for that node.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Not today, we have an open enhancement request in for this.  You can put an href in a custom property and it looks like a link on the website, but it gets munged up in serving it.

I would really like to see that feature so feel free to sign me up for it!  This would allow me to use URL's in custom properties to link to Run Book documentation for each node.

I was sure there must be a way of working around the munging, so I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out a way.

Put a space between the "quote" mark and http, then Orion doesn't munge the link. I've tested the resulting link IE8, IE6 and the latest Firefox.

                Example:

                <a href=" http://www.google.com/">googleeeeee</a>

                HTH

Edit: I appear to have hit a stumbling block with regards to adding the ${SysName} varible....

Edit: I have failed It does some weird % encoding thing which isn't urlencoding. Maybe it's a charset thing. Sorry. Unless you can do stuff on the destination server with the referer it sends after clicking the link, I'm guessing you'll be knackered.
