Forum IPAM - How does IPAM populate the names in the ip addresses it discovers?

IPAM - How does IPAM populate the names in the ip addresses it discovers?

IPAM scans VLANS and discovers ip addresses. When it discovers the addresses it uses dns to populate the names into the records, correct?

If we have a lab dns server and a regular dns server is it possible to have it resolve against both?

Where does the dns get set up? Is it just using whatever is set for the server that IPAM is installed on?

IPAM uses the DNS settings of the server it is installed on. Is this not what you are seeing?

I am not sure at this point since we just recently installed the product. I just wanted to verify how it was picking up the names. I appreciate the response and I will check my dns settings on the management server.
