Re: Unpluggable Mode and Alerts
dannocito Aug 13, 2010 1:31 PM (in response to Andy McBride)I don't see any basic or advanced alerts call "Interface Status". How can I alter this alert?

Re: Unpluggable Mode and Alerts
Andy McBride Aug 13, 2010 2:03 PM (in response to dannocito)The alert I show above is from the Advanced Alert Manager. It is the "Alert me when an Interface goes down" canned alert which I have edited. Take a look at this paper which can help understand the Advance Alert Manager.

Re: Unpluggable Mode and Alerts
dannocito Aug 13, 2010 2:10 PM (in response to Andy McBride)This alert shows up under basic alerts not advanced alerts. I checked all the canned basic and advanced alerts and all have unplugged unchecked or removed.

Re: Unpluggable Mode and Alerts
Andy McBride Aug 13, 2010 3:05 PM (in response to dannocito)I highly recommend doing this as an advance alert. First go into the Admin web interface and multi select the interfaces that are unpluggable. Then click the Display interface as unplugged..." button and submit. After that go to advanced alert manager and alter the trigger condition as shown above.

Re: Unpluggable Mode and Alerts
dannocito Aug 16, 2010 8:06 AM (in response to Andy McBride)Gotcha - I figured out what was happening. When I added the interfaces, NPM marked them as down. When I edited them to be unpluggable, it never cleared the alarm. When I disabled the alert and re-added it, I was good. I also converted it to an advanced alarm. Thanks for all the help.
