    Newbie Question

Is it possible to pass data through the Ethernet ports on a cisco router without actually routing through the device? I thought I could do this to enable netflow on the cisco device in question without having to program a routed hop in my network. None of the machines I want to monitor can be physically re-routed and are on over 15 different vlans throughout my network.

      Thoughts?

After reading some more I guess what I am trying to do is to make a cisco device like a network tap. I know people do this by spanning ports from non-netflow managed switches to 'servers' capable of netflow translation which then pass the netflow formatted data to the netflow monitor.

Would I simply span the ports to my cisco device and then point the netflow to the SW collector?
