Adding IBM DS type array to profiler

    marc.day@fil.com

Hello I have the IBM SMI-S provider set up but when I add the device into profiler, it wants the wwn of the array to be entered, looking in the smi-s agent it doesnt match the array

I have tried both the wwn and the key value using one of the Serials.

the problem is the wwn field takes the - symbol out.

I have also tried ESS type?

      Any ideas?

From the Administration > Resources page, click the wrench for the DS array.   At the bottom of the page, press the Test button.  If your provider is configured properly, and you have the proper credentials to communicate with it, you should have another window pop up like this:

The numbers in the red box are the sample array identifiers (each line is a different array) you can use on the configuration screen.

          Thanks

This is a unique situation with the dashes in the identifier. In your situation you're going to want to use 6868383 as your identifier. This a little known trick when setting up an array within Profiler. When we are comparing the input given for the identifier it only has to match a portion of the identifier found from the SMI-S provider. So, by using the string 6868383 as your identifier you should start collecting data. Let us know how this works out for you.
