NPM 10 web console causes high CPU Utilisation/System crashes

Hi,

After upgrading to NPM 10, I'm seeing high CPU utilisation in browsers running the NPM web console.

This will normally cause the system to crash after 1/2 hour or so.

I'm seeing this problem in IE6/7/8, on systems running Windows 2003/Vista/2008.

Does anyone encounter the same problems?

Cheers,

Eric

I've kinda managed to solve the issue by chance.

A few days ago, I changed the rules that detects bandwidth utilizations to check at a frequency of 1 hour rather than the default 1 minute and IE has not crashed since.

I do not understand why this is the case though but it is a good improvisation for the time being.

  • That will do it.  We typically say you do manage 8000 elements per poller as default polling intervals.  If you turn that down to poll my often then you will get less capacity out of your poller.  You can do it, you just may have to look to purchase an additional poller if you want to poll at that faster interval.
