need flexible search options in Orion website events / traps / syslog

Good feedback on the regex search.  You should be able to do some wildcard searching today, I used * and it worked, what other wildcards are you interested in.

Also in the syslog and trap viewer you can use regex to filter on which items to action off of as well

I believe you can only do that from the viewer when you RDP into the box.  I am talking about being able to do that from the web.

might have missed something, but I don't think the web gives that flexibility right now...that is the request.

You are correct on my second post, you can only do the via RDP'ing into the box.  Some wildcards via the web console should work though

I can find no way to get wildcards to work for searching IP addresses on the web syslog viewer. 

Only a complete IP address returns results.  Not being able to use Wildcard searchs from the webpage syslog search is a big issue. 

Please make sure a feature request has been submitted.

I just tested in the version in Dev right now.  This still does not appear to work on the syslog page, however, we are adding a new page called message center which displays syslog, traps, events and alerts in a single page and searching by wildcard * worked ok there for me

Any idea on whether or not regex will be added to either the Message Center or Syslog web pages?
