When doing a network discovery you cannot add additional interfaces discovered on devices already added into the database. Additionally when adding in devices that are new there is not distinction on the ports types, especially for Serial as is ther when doing a single node add. this is a real problem when needing to adding additional interfaces to a router, in my case over 900. My only choice appears to be doing a one node at a type list of resources then adding in the new interface.
Can there be an enhancement to this process in Orion NPM 10 so it works more like the single node add process that distinguishes between the different interfaces. Such as the difference between a serial WAN data interface, the T1 interface and a serial PRI for voice
So with 10 we added scheduled discovery which will show you both for new nodes and existing nodes new interfaces/ports found for your use case. You may also want to check out some community content, see Stored Procedure - Add Interfaces by Device Type and Orion Interface Discovery by Descriptionfor some examples
