    Internet Bandwidth Hogs

I have been tasked with a project to do a report on what software or applications require high amounts of internet bandwidth.  If anyone has information on that I would appreciate it.

      Thanks,

      Jeff

          Hi Jeff,

It has been my experience that this varies according to the specific software implementation. For example an ERP package may use almost no bandwidth for a consolidated company and a lot of bandwidth for a distributed one. Is this task to find out which software in general uses a lot of bandwidth or what is using it in your environment? If it is the latter, you could turn on NetFlow on the Internet gateway router(s) and inspect the traffic via CLI or use a tool such as our NetFlow free tool or the full NTA package for full 24X7 monitoring.
