SNMP Outstanding Polls Keep Overrunning the Max

This is the second time outstanding polls have overrun the Maximum. This messes up alerting.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this for good?

I restarted service using Orion Service Manager and that brought the SNMP Outstanding down to a low value.
But I recall that I was told I should reduce the Max Outstanding Polls to fix this going forward. Where do you set this?
The documentation is vague:

"Managing Orion NPM Polling Engines
To ensure that your polling engines are optimized to run at peak performance, you will need to occasionally tune them. If you use more than one polling engine, you will need to balance the load so that each engine can perform optimally."
I checked in the Orion Web Admin/Admin/Polling Settings and I do not see Max Outstanding Polls there.
I also checked Admin/NPM setting and it's not there either.
