Can an Alert create a report?

Hi Patriot--

I checked on this and the answer is that it can't be done easily. Maybe there's a hack or workaround. I'll keep checking to see what I can find. Community folks, please speak up and help us get this resolved.

Yes and No

I have figured out how to have an alert send a Report however the report must already be created.

Please see the following:

Create the report you want sent (tell it to run once)

in the report trigger actions choose to execute an external program

in the "program to execute" line put the following:

schtasks /run /tn "reportname"

This will send the report!

(Change reportname to be the name of your report)

(Change taskname to be the name of your jobname in report scheduler)

With NPM 11.0.1 (or whenever it changed), reports are no longer scheduled as a task, so this solution no longer works.  .  I'm still working on getting mine to work using another method.  See: How to run a report from an Alert trigger.
