Cisco Buffer Misses

-2 indicates we were unable to poll that value from the device.  Check if your device supports the Cisco Buffer OIDs:

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.47

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.19

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.27

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.35

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.43

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.67

These have to do with memory management on the device from the OLD-CISCO-MEMORY-MIB.

I did a MIB walk of the device and found all of those there.  They each had a .0 on the end of the numbers but they were there with data.

I should also state that I have this entered as 3 different nodes.  It has 2 WAN links to it over a serial connection and 1 ethernet connection to the LAN.  The ethernet side is getting 0 misses but both serial node detail pages give a -2.

So the .0 at the end of all those OIDs is expected.  Have you tried querying those OIDs from each interface?  I am not sure of all the ways to configure the SNMP on a Cisco, so I would see if:

1. the OIDs are responding properly from each interface

2. there is a setting that needs to be changed if #1 fails.

Where did you go the walk from, the Orion server?  Might be best to open a ticket with support to look into further

I had this problem as well, in my case it was happening on devices that I was not collecting CPU/Mem. 

Once I added the CPU/Mem to the 2 WAN links, the Buffer Misses went to 0.  Looks like they are ok now.  Thanks for the input.
