Transforming Poller Output

I feel stupid for asking this...

I just got a UDP working to say if a device is on or off.  The probelm is it reports back on(1) or just 1.  I thought I saw some where out to covert this result but I can't seem to find it now. Basically I'm trying to setup an alert to email the status of the device.

Is this there anyway to translate 1 to "On" and 0 to "Off"?

Again, I feel stupid for asking.

  • This is a great question.

In the Universal Device Poller you can click on the Show Advanced Options when you are editing your poller to show some additional options.

Once there, select the Format to be "Enumeration" then click Map Values.

Then type in your mapped values

    0     Off
    1     On

And then you should see the text instead of the numeric values.

Please let me know if you have any addtional questions.

    Thanks

  • That is freakin' awesome.  I do however feel stupid.  I stared at that screen forever.  I even clicked on the advanced options, but for some reason I never click on 'map values'.  I even went back and watched the tutorials for both versions.

    Thank you.
