can one load IP SLAs directly into the IPSLA Monitor?

    freemen

Is is possible to load an already configured monitor into the IP SLA Monitor? Is that what the Load button is for?

I am wanting to leverage SLA monitors that are already configured on network devices. In other words, I want to set up a monitor thru the tool without necessarily having to go through the configure step on the tool first.

      Any help ? Thanks.

          Yes you can do this.

          sort of.

The IP SLA tool provides ability to export and import the operation definitions through the Load and Save options. It uses a specific XML format to process the operation definitions. You could create the XML file with the definition of your operations and then load it into the tool.

The easiest way to do this would be to first export an operation from the tool to create the XML file (so you can look at the structure) and then update that file with your pre-configured operations. Once you import that XML file back into the tool you should be able to monitor those operations in the tool. The key elements in the XML file are the operation number and the operation name.
