I have a number of sites running Cisco 837 routers on xDSL circuits. My alerts are setup based on priorities. When a node stops responding I get an alert. No problem. That’s one of reasons we all have Orion, right ;)
Now then, as you know DSL is unpredictable at the best of times and these 837 lose connectivity with regularity and our engineers get a constant stream of emails informing them that the DSL site is down and then back up again soon after.
Is there any way I can suppress these alerts so if the site is down for 5 minutes then sent the alert that the site is down.
