NPM 9.1 move database

deswhite over 14 years ago

I need to move existing database off existing SQL cluster to a newly created 2005 Sql cluster, is there a documented process for this? DBA reccomended to simulate an install and point to the new cluster for the database and allow NPM to create the new DB and then overwrite the data with the old DB. Seems complex to me.

You could detatch the database from the current cluster and attach it to the new, but you can certainly do it the way the DBA recommends, too.

When you attach/detach or backup/restore a database from one server to another one, permissions are not moved which usually leads to recreate the Orion SQL user on the remote database using the Configuration Wizard.
