Problems opening a session to Unity Express

Running the 30 day trial of Cattools 3.4.0 as we are evaluating 3rd party tools for backing up CUE.

Following the directions, I created a device for the 2800 ISR router that contains the AIM module.  This device is set up as a Direct Connect using telnet (23).  Our routers use tacacs AAA authentication, so in the password sections I have my AAA username and password.  I have initial login requires a username/password checked as well as enable mode uses AAA username/password.  I am able to successfully run the Device.ConnectivityTest.Login to this device.

I then created a device for the unity module.

      Device type: Cisco.Other.CUE

      Host address: service-module service-Engine0/0 session

      Model: AIM-CUE

Connext via: Cisco Router 1    <----- this is the router device I created above.

      Method: Session

Unity is also setup for AAA authenication and the device is configured that same as the router in regards to the AAA username and password.

Runing the Device.ConnectivityTest.Login to the CUE fails every time.

I ran a debug on two activities.  One was a simple running config compare on the 2800 ISR (CME) router.   The other was a debug of trying to log into the Unity Express AIM on that same router.

The debug for the running config compare showed the activity logging into the router via telnet using my AAA credentials, entering enable mode using my AAA credentials, and completing the commands.

The debug for logging into Unity express showed the activity logging into the same router via telent using my AAA credentials, but then it never tries to go into enable mode prior to issueing the command "service-module service-Engine 0/0 session".

This command won't work unless the router is in enable mode.

              Hi Coverley,

I attach two scripts for you to try with a couple of changes. They also have a little bit of additional logging information to try and help me see what's going on.

Backup your existing scripts first then copy these one into your scripts folder. Please let me know how you get on and post the relevant section of the infolog as before.

              Regards,
