upgrade Orion NPM from 8.5.1 --> 9.5 service pack 1

Note:This is the first time i am emailing on this forum.

I am planning to upgrade from Orion NPM v 8.5.1 to 9.5 service pack 1.

My question is do i need to upgrade to a different version first before 9.5 or can i upgrde directly from 8.5.1 to 9.5.

The server does not have any internet connection.

I would appreciate any assistance and reference to any hints/tips.

 thanks

  • You can go directly from 8.5.1 to 9.5 SP1. As always, make backups of everything you can.

If you plan to use the NCM Integration Module, you should also upgrade to NCM 5.5 at the same time.

Note that NPM 9.5/NCM 5.5 do not support SQL 2000, but DO support both Windows 2008 and SQL Server 2008 as well as Windows 2003 and SQL Server 2005.

To be sure you  have everything in place, review the Release Notes as well as the Administrator Guide, especially the sections on Requirements and Server Sizing.
