We just put two Red Hat Linux (VMware images) on the network. One into TEST and one into PRODUCTION.
Each system is reporting high Packet Losses with high Response Times, more than anything like our Windows OS VMware images report.
These high values with Linux stick out like a sore thumb.
So, is this typical when monitoring Linux/Net-SNMP or Linux on VMware or is this a potential problem between Orion and Linux?
This isn't a known bug. Packet loss is calculated via ping, which is blind to device type. Do you get the same data when you look via your VMware tools?
Dev suggested that conflicting IPs might cause the problem.
