If you log in the web console with an admin account. You will have the possibility to edit this resource (edit button on the top right of the resource) and set a filter.
I think the following filter should make it for your issue: Events.EventType != 19
It is supposed to not show "Interface Changed" events in the resource.
Thanks for the quick response!
I am an admin, and I have edit on most all my other items on my main view, but I do no have edit ability on the "Last 25 Events" Any idea why I wouldn't have an edit option above this particular widget?
You can try to remove it and add the Last XX Events resource. This one should have the edit option.
I tried that and still no edit option. I even tried adding the Last 50 Events and it has no edit option either.
Last 25 and Last 50 events have a "Help" button, but no edit button.
I notice I also don't have an edit option on Active Alerts.
I just tried this in hopes I could help someone else out and realized that while I do have the Edit button for "Last XX Events", there is no option to filter the events. All I see is the option to show how many events and the timeframe.
After checking all the event resources, I could not find a filter option either.
I proposed this solution because I helped a customer 1-2 months ago with the exact same issue and we used this filter...but as a matter of fact I cannot find anymore the resource. He was running 9.1 SP5.
I am going to contact him so that we can sort this out.

The resourece I am using to overcome this exact issue was downloaded from here:
it is "last xx events Filtered" resource, for which the filter (as suggested by Yann) is "Events.EventType !=19"
Hope this helps
I would suggest that SW replace the current Event resource with this one. As a rule of thumb, when designing a resource and you are faced with the question, "Should we allow filtering or not in this resource?", assume the answer is an emphatic YES! :-)
So uh, I downloaded it, but there was nothing in the zip that told me where to put it to be able to use it.
Put these in the "Inetpub\Solarwinds\Netperfmon\Resources\1-3-Events\" folder.
Thanks alot folks!!! Works like a champ!
This is no longer working after 9.5. The resources have been moved to SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon\Resources. And as stated in the Release notes ASP is no longer supported. I have created my own .resource file to filter the events.
We really need to filter events - there are to many not interesting events in the list. I need a events list that is a quick view for my dispatcher.
Have tried to code this in the ascx file - but no luck.
Any advice on this after 9.5?
I was about to suggest we update to 9.5! We are currently on 9.1.
I can't say that breaking the editabled events module will stop me from upgrading, but I sure am interested in finding out if there is a way to do it in 9.5.
Any progress on this?
I have deployed this resource and it looks to be a great replacement for the original. I notice you are filtering a number of events by default, which I have commented out for now as they didnt appear in my list of events.I have extracted from the database all the event types, which are below for reference:
1 Node Down
2 Node Warning
5 Node Up
8 Node Removed
9 Node Added
10 Interface Down
11 Interface Up
12 Interface Shutdown
13 Interface Unknown
14 Node Rebooted
15 Critical System Error
16 Interface Added
17 Interface Removed
18 Interface Remapped

I'd like an update to this too.
I never knew about the other resource! That would have been awesome to have.
I worked around this issue by replacing the events resource on my main page with a report from report writer. You can't acknowledge events from it, but it does the filtering and made the events list usable once again.
I started with the "Last 250 Events" report and cut it down to 25 events and then put my filter on the filter tab. I can upload it if someone needs, but it's really not difficult to make.
I have never tried, but I'd say it's unlikely to work on anything newer than 10.4
stuartwhyte Any ideas of a work around solution or alternative?
As it is by default... the Last xx (25) Events shows way too many unnecessary events.
What I really require is Nodes & Interfaces (Up & Down --- Added & Removed) - Reboots & Shutdowns etc.
Clearing the Events (manually) on the go from the Events section itself, isn't really an option for me either.
I wonder why SolarWinds (Orion) NPM hasn't integrated a filter option in the program by default?!
