    NetFlow database maintenance

    kweise

      Hi everyone,

I'm currently running Orion v9.1SP5 and NetFlow 3.1 SP2.  I'm going to be moving my database to a new server this weekend and I was wondering if there is a way to manually run the database maintenance process that compresses the database and log files.  Under the Edit Database Maintenance Settings in the NetFlow Settings section of the Admin tab, it looks like the best I could do would be to schedule the task to run once a day.  I don't suppose there is a "run now" button somewhere is there?

Also, with the addition of the new filegroups for the NetFlow data, what is the best way to migrate the database to a new server?  We have a dba group that manages all the databases, so I don't have access to the database server.  Is there anything in particular I need to let my DBA know?

      Thanks!

When restoring/attaching the database on the new server, you will have to specify all the filegroups names to be able to complete the restore/attach process. So write down their names before to move the database.

Otherwise the usual documentation should answer the rest of your questions:

Do not hesitate to ask if it does not.
