We’ve been trying to get SolarWinds Orion Netflow Traffic Analysis working on a analysing traffic emanating from a DSL gateway router. We’re doing 1 in 10 sampling on a Juniper M7i that faces the gateway (direct link, not switched).
The interface is down as reporting as doing between 10 and 20 Mbps in and 80 – 100 Mbps out, but in the reports are saying that there’s only 183.7 Mbytes of TCP and 18.6Mbytes of UDP and small levels of other protocols in a 15 minute segment.
In 15 minutes on an interface doing 80Mbps+, I’d be expecting to see at least 9GBytes – even multiplying by 10 to correct sampling, these figures make no sense to me.
Is there anyone who can help me resolve this? – not having understandable, sensible figures is a blocker to purchasing this software.
