Progressive Chart Loading completely changes graphs

I was playing with the progressive chart loading the other day with some rather large netflow windows and i found that when i turned on progressive chart loading all of my detailed "spikes" were smoothed over and my Y-Axis jumped from ~160G max to 600G. Though the actual bytes,packets,percent stay the same it looks to me like completely different graphs... Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Progressive uses a different x axis data period. (3 days vs 1 day)
