Hi Bob - Here is what you can do:
- In NPM, select the View Button from the toolbar
- Select 'Nodes View' and wait for the view to build.
- Select "File -> Export -> Export to Comma Delimited File..."
- Select the IP Address and Community String to be exported
- Name and save your file.
- Once the file is created, manually remove the nodes (from the CSV File) that you do not want imported into Workspace Studio.
Voila - you have an import file!
I see what you mean and I've altered nodes view to show just the nodes, no status, status led, etc...
I export that to a .csv and go to workspace and import as a .csv. All goes well.
I change the header from "Ignore" to "host name". I only have that one column.
The problem is, the "finish" button never lights up so I can finish the import.
Thanks for your quick reply. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong here?
At a minimum the Workspace Studio device import process requires the IP address. You need to make sure that when you export from the Network Performance Monitor you include the IP Address field. Then in your Workspace Studio import screen change the header for that column to 'IP Address'. The Finish button will enable once a column has been assigned to the 'IP Address' field.
For Dynamic addresses also include the host name in your export and assign that column to your 'Host Name' field in Workspace Studio. Also include a column in your import file that indicates "True" for dynamically addressed devices and "False" for statically addressed devices. Assign this column to the "Dynamic" field in Workspace Studio. The dynamic fields will re-resolve the IP Addresses.
Ip address is part of my node name, so I unchecked that column. Everything's good to go now. Appreciate it.
I know this is an old post, but how would we do this with 1.0x ?
