Large Number of DB Connections

Hi,

We have NetperfMon. When this application is running there are large numbers of connections to the DB ~ over 200. I know post indicates that this is normal.

However we need to reduce the number of connections. Are there any settings/tuning that we can do on the app to reduce the number of connections?
