NTA 3.1 SP1 Feedback

Three cheers and a Tip o' the hat for this Service Pack!!

  • Installed no errors or hangs
  • I like the release notes as part of the install
  • Fixed the bugs as advertised!
  • Timely response to these problems

Thanks to all the Solarwinds folks who worked on this!

  • The only issue we have had with this SP (and every NTA SP in the past year) is that the NetFlow Traffic Analysis Settings for each and every user account have been reset to default.  For some accounts we have different views or no view at all, so we must change them all back.  Below is an example of an account that has been reset.

NetFlow Traffic Analysis View This view is used when NetFlow Summary are displayed.
NetFlow Node Details This view is used when details about a single NetFlow Node are displayed.
NetFlow Application Details This view is used when details about a single NetFlow Application are displayed.
NetFlow Interface Details This view is used when details about a single NetFlow Interface are displayed.
NetFlow Conversation This view is used when details about a conversation displayed.
NetFlow Country This view is used when details about a country displayed.
NetFlow Domain This view is used when details about a domain displayed.
NetFlow Endpoint This view is used when details about an endpoint displayed.
NetFlow IPAddressGroup This view is used when details about a IP Address Group displayed.
NetFlow Protocol This view is used when details about a protocol displayed.
NetFlow Type of Service This view is used when details about a type of service displayed.
  • Actually, we do have a bug logged in from a customer (could be you) about this from Tech Support.  We have already assigned it to be fixed in SP2.  I appreciate you bring this to our attention and hopefully SP1 will be the last time that you see this.

    Thanks,

    David

  • Wasn't us, but we appreciate your effort to fix the issue. Thanks

  • For those of us using a split service/web install do we need to apply SP1 to both systems or just the one running the service?

    Thanks

    BB

  • Yes, you should always apply service packs to both the service and web installs.
