Installing more than one pooling engines

      Hi all,

I have to installations of Orion NPM on my network on servers with the following IP addresses,192.168.20.20 and 192.168.20.10.

Presently, am capturing netflow on 192.168.20.10, someone please advice me on how to add the pooling engine on 192.168.20.20 to 192.168.20.10.

I actually captured netflow on this server b/4 changing to 192.168.20.10

      Thank you.

      Eric

I'm not sure I completely understand your question.  It sounds like you have two seperate installations of Orion, one on each server.  If that's so, you would have to have two copies of the NetFlow module software, one for each server.  The NetFlow module is just a listener for NetFlow exports.  You can't redirect the data from one server to another.

If I didn't understand your question correctly, just let me know and I'll try again.

              Hi kweise,

Thanks a milion for your answers the other day.

              It was most helpful.

              Thank you.

Kindly  see if you could help with the following:

I need to configure NPM to:

              1. Report bandwidth figures on per minute/hour biases, while presenting availability of same in percentage figures.(Charts have been noted, we have seen this ). These reports should be in an exportable format like Microsoft sheets, hence should be e-mailed to predefined email addresses at predefined time intervals ,say daily, weekly etc.
              2. System should be customized to monitor  selected windows services.

              Thank You,
              Eric

                  Eric,

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, I haven't be on Thwack much lately.  You should be able to create custom reports using the report writer on your Orion server that allow you to define the statistics you require.  There is also an Orion Report Scheduler app that will allow you to schedule any report to be generated and then sent out via an email.

As far as monitoring Windows services, I think you would need to purchase one of the additional Orion Modules, the Application Performance Monitor.  You can read about it here:

                  http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/application_monitor/index.aspx

                  Hope this helps!
