    Orion Trap Interpretation

      Once I get traps from some of the Cisco equipment, how can I make these traps meaningful for alerts to be sent.

      Specifically, I am looking to get Environmental Traps and give meaningful messages.

       Here is what I get as a trap:

      0/16/2008 10:56 AM : CISCO-ENVMON-MIB:ciscoEnvMonSuppStatusChangeNotif SNMP Trap

      Received Time:10/16/2008 10:56:37 AM

      Source:{NAME SCRUBBED}({IP ADDRESS SCRUBBED})

      Community:public

      Variable Bindings

      sysUpTime:= 11 minutes 10.50 seconds (67050)

      snmpTrapOID:= CISCO-ENVMON-MIB:ciscoEnvMonSuppStatusChangeNotif (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.3.0.9)

      ciscoEnvMonSupplyStatusDescr.1:= AC Power Supply

      ciscoEnvMonSupplyState.1:= 4

      experimental.1057.1:= {IP ADDRESS SCRUBBED HERE}

      snmpTrapEnterprise:= CISCO-ENVMON-MIB:ciscoEnvMonMIBNotificationPrefix (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.3)

       This is on a test machine, so I can play with it for a time.

      I realize that this is Power Supply 1 and that it came back up to normal. How do I make the message say that in the alert?  Thsi would also be true for any other Environmet Trap in the Cisco MIBs.

      Thanks
