Orion Network Perf Mon 8.5.1

Hello,

I am trying to use custom pollers/mib to get the temperature of hp and ibm servers. I have imported the mibs for hp from this site. I have also assigned the mibs to the nodes. How do I get to see the value on the web end of orion also can i set alerts that the value can trigger. I.e if the temp is above x centigrades then email and reset if above x.

Your help will be really appreciated.

You have to add the custom poller to your node view. So go in the Admin Page -> Manage Views then create a new View for a node that has a custom poller. Once your in the view you can go under Node Gauge or Node Chart and select custom poller.
Regarding the alert example see this thread

I have done as you advised however when i go to the drop down box to select my custom poller it does not show up here. Is there anything that im doing wrong?

Could you clarify where this is not showing up? in the Gauge/Chart selections?

It sounds like the custom poller is not configured properly - i.e. the value type may be setup wrong so it won't be detected in the resource. Check the configuration of the custom poller and let us know how you've set it up.
