I'm new to Microsoft SQL Server - before SolarWinds I have always used MySQL. When we installed SolarWinds, we didnt set up any form of automated backup on the SQL Server - until we realised today that although our database is about 1GB, the transaction logs are over 40GB. The only way to trundicate the transaction logs apparently is to backup the database, then backup the logs - then it'll trundicate the logs in the database.
As a new MSSQL user this was completly unknown to me - now whilst I have now set a maintenance schedule on the MSSQL server, I wonder if SolarWinds couldn't have helped me out and set something upon install? Or even provided their own automated backup feature?
