CPU pegged when doing IP ARP discovery

Be aware when running the Port Mapper against a fully loaded Cisco 6500 switch with a Sup720, I've seen the CPU hit 86% utilization while it is pulling the IP ARP table from the router to map the ports on an attached 3750 stack.

You may not want to run this tool during peak production hours on a large network.

On a side note, there have been several requests over the years to be able to filter out the uplink ports on a switch, so that the map does not include thousands of IP's and MAC's of the devices not directly connected to the switch.
Any idea if this feature is doable?
