Unmanage a time period in the past

Is there a way to unmanage a time period in the past so it doesn't count against uptime metrics? For example, if one of our sites shuts down power to the whole site without notifying us? The GUI allows you to unmanage for a time period that starts in the past, but the uptime metrics still count that downtime.

  • No, this is not possible. Essentially Unmanage stops Orion polling for data and if the data does not exist in the database, it cannot influence reports which have information such as SLA for availability. Setting that value for a past time does not mean that Orion will go and delete data it has already collected.

If you have a change management solution which defines the maintenance windows, I suggest you look at using the Orion API to integrate these, so mapping of maintenance windows is an automated function and therefore prevents issues where windows are not configured in Orion.
