MSSQL Audit Agent - 64bit Server

Ran into an issue recently when installing the MSSQL agent on a Windows Server 2008 64bit and SQL 2008.  Agent installs without issue.  Problem is when you try to enable the tool from the LEM console.

When configuring the tool from the LEM Console, be sure that you change the the default location for the log files from C:\Program Files\Solar Winds....... to C:\Program Files (x86)\Solar Winds.....

Good tip. Did that resolve your issue completely, SQL Auditor is up and working okay?

The connectors that are built for the Windows directory (system32/syswow64) do a pretty good job with the 64-bit redirection, but Program Files isn't so lucky. emoticons_wink.png

  • All resolved. What led me to this is that while the local service for the agent started without issue, I couldn't get the tool on the Console to start. A little digging showed that the audit logs were being collected on the host, just weren't picked up by the console. That's when I took a look at the default paths and noticed it wasn't registering the correct path for the 64-bit installation.
