PowerShell to add interfaces to windows node

Hi Team,

I am trying auto discover interfaces to windows node, but invoke query which I am using gives me error for windows which works fine for Linux node.

Here is the details

Invoke-swisverb &swis select orion.npm.interfaces discovering effaced innocent &nodeid

Can anyone help me with this issue.

Is there a reason why you could not achieve the discovery of these interfaces via a Sonar discovery? There are advanced options available to filter which interfaces are added to Orion, if using the automatic on-boarding options. This may well offer you a solution to using the API for this task on Windows nodes.

Hello,
Is the polling method for the windows Node set to SNMP? NPM cannot poll windows interfaces via WMI.

Hi Tony,
While this is accurate, what happens if SAM is also installed, which should give the flexibility to monitor interfaces by WMI ?
I've just tested in my environment (NPM+SAM+ a few others) on a WMI monitored Windows node and I'm getting 'Invalid Node', which I assume is the error message deekshitha is also referring to.

I don't beleive this is currently possible for WMI interfaces. We are tracking this internally as a feature request under SAM-10908.

I'm looking at the same thing as we have automation in place for new builds, that will add everything except interface - its my next powershell script that I'm working on.
Just wish there was a list of the default values that are invioked when adding the WMi interfaces

The verb Orion.NPM.Interfaces.DiscoverInterfacesOnNode is obsolete as it only works for SNMP. To discover interfaces for both SNMP and WMI we advise to use verb Orion.Discovery.StartDiscovery.
