Unable to poll Contexts, HA status and ACLs of Cisco ASAs

Hi All,

We've recently upgraded the NPM to 12.2 and was excited to explore Cisco ASA Insight monitoring. However, when configured monitoring of the ASAs  using its CLI and enable credentials, the contexts, HA status, ACLs are not being polled.

I followed the instructions at Set up monitoring Cisco ASA firewalls - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support , to configure its monitoring.

The CISCO ASA versions I have trouble on are:

Cisco ASA 5555-X

Cisco ASA 5585 SSP 10SC

While troubleshooting the same, found that the connection to these multi-context ASAs take me to the "admin" context directly and when I execute "execute" on it, it throws error. PFA its screenshot. Is this something to be worried about?

What could be the reason for the data not being polled ?

FYI, I also have configured the same on below two ASAs which are not multi-context and the data is polled perfectly fine for them.

Cisco ASA 5525-X

Cisco ASA 5585 SSP 20

Is this something related to being "MULTI_CONTEXT" ???

Any help here would really be appreciated.

Many Thanks!

  • Sorry I wasn't thinking and I didn't do the ASA monitoring one. What your original picture looks like is its trying to go into the privileged mode via enable but your login credentials already have permissions high enough that you login directly to the priv mode. For instance, my permissions do that so I just leave the 'Enable Password' section blank.
