Need to take application level backup for Solarwinds patch manager server

Dear All,

Need to take patch manager application backup. We have Automation servers and main patch manager server (master) and WSUS servers configured in our environment. I would like to know whether application back up can be taken or database back up is sufficient. If someone can give more info on this it would be helpful.
