Please help us
You should configure 'Log File Rotation' to create new files when they get to be over a certain size. You will get multiple files per day. We set ours at 500mb so most editors can read it.
If you are searching the file for specific strings you could configure a rule to match those strings and log to another file. This will very likely create a much smaller file of the items you want to review and keeping the other entries in a 'generic' log file.
If having multiple files isn't an option for your environment(not recommended), you can use a file viewer that handles files over 2gb. This link offers some options for reading very large files - https://www.ghacks.net/2018/02/22/how-to-open-gigabyte-sized-text-files-on-windows.
when we try to choose log file rotation option, it is saying that " Log file rotation only available in licensed version "
currently we are doing one device log, now further we required log collection of approx. 50+ Network device like router & switches.
Could you please suggest us that proper syslog server software so that we can go for purchase. it could analysed the log easily.
Some functions are limited to licensed version. The license cost of Kiwi is well worth spent. Been using Kiwi for many many years now. It stood the test of time.
Sounds like you're using the free version of kiwi syslog server which comes with clearly many limitations... (After all it is free.)
There's many ways to tweak and optimize your kiwi syslog server, namely log file rotation... but many others as well like creating rules for specific log matches and devices.
However the free version lacks many features and there's a hard device limit of 5 or so.
