  • Have you tried messing with 'sc'?

    DESCRIPTION:
SC is a command line program used for communicating with the
    NT Service Controller and services.
    USAGE:
    sc <server> [command] [service name] <option1> <option2>...

The option <server> has the form "\\ServerName"
Further help on commands can be obtained by typing: "sc [command]"

The following commands don't require a service name:

be saved as the last-known-good boot configuration
    Lock------------Locks the Service Database

    EXAMPLE:
    sc start MyService
  • will this work? What is the service name for perf mon?
  • Another option is to use the Firedaemon software (http://www.firedaemon.com/). Just to point out I am not affilliated to this product/vendor, just been a user of this software before to good effect.
