    WHD 12.5.1

      Has anyone found a resolution for:

      Connection timed out: connect

      javax.mail.MessagingException: Connection timed out: connect;

        nested exception is:

      Or is this something I shouldn't be concerned about?

          Some additional information might be a good start.

          What type of mailbox server you are connecting too, exchange/365, pop3, standard IMAP?

          How long has it been going on or is it just a one time thing?

            • Re: WHD 12.5.1

              IMAP.gmail.com is our mail server.

              seems to be on going for awhile now but just got my THWACK log in yesterday. It throws that error and a disconnecting from server error.

                  We use Gmail/IMAP (imap.gmail.com, port 993, SSL option checked), as well and get these timeout errors a few times a month.  Under Setup > Email > Options we have Connection Timeout = 30 seconds.

                  If you're able to connect successfully/frequently, the assumption is that there is some latency during the connection process. You might try increasing the timeout bit by bit to see if that helps.

                  Might also be worth a deeper dive into your network to see if there's anything along the route causing additional latency, dropped packets, etc.
