I had NetBrain at my last job- it's an amazing tool. Worth every penny. It completely changed our Operational capability, improved MTTI/MTTR, and workflow. It became the single source of truth for everything network.
Unfortunately I don't have NetBrain (yet) at my new job to show you, but yes, it is relatively simple. You may need support or call your NetBrain account rep to help with the API piece, but it's just Rest. Example of the workflow- Solarwinds alerts your ticketing system (ie Cherwell, ServiceNow) which triggers path vector, JIT mapping, etc and auto-updates the ticket. 3/4 of your process becomes centralized in your ticketing system. It will change your workflow completely for the better.
