Not sure if anyone has had this issue or not. Still trying to get it working. Support, so far, has replaced the Serv-U.archive and created a new global administrator by sending me files to dump in the /opt/Serv-U/Users/Global Users/ folder. But we still cannot make any changes in the web interface.

I had this issue before on a windows machine. I just go to Services.msc and changed the service account for the Serv-U service. Not sure though how to do it on a linux box. Maybe you need to re-run the installation via chmod77777.
You might be knowledgeable with linux on me so If somehow you can set the Service account to root then go for it.
