NCM Trace Session-No Output/logs

Hello,

I am trying to enable NCM Session Trace under NCM Settings-Advanced Settings during troubleshooting some NCM Backup Scripts, but I could not locate the subsequent log files under C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\NCM\Session-Trace

Please advise what I could be missing?

I am using NCM 7.5.1

  • Hi Adnan, it’s a long shot but you might try looking in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\NCM\Session-Trace (Assuming C is your install directory for SolarWinds if not change as appropriate). This is where the files used to be located in earlier versions of NCM.

    Thanks for your reply, But I could not find the logs.

    I am stuck with this issue as have to trouble shoot the NCM Script execution. I am trying to simulate Cisco WLC Binary Backups but it is not working and I want to see where exactly is the problem, have tried to see under Transfer Session for any messages but it does not show a detailed session detail between NCM and Device.

    Any other tip to accomplish the same objective would be appreciated.

  • I have just noticed that as soon as I click the "Enable Session Trace", it goes unclicked once I refresh the page, it seems like it is not even enabled.

  • I did that too. Missed the crazy little save button stashed at the bottom of the page.
