Monitor to check if Server falls off Domain

We have a few pesky servers that like to fall off the domain from time to time (yes I would like to just rebuild and move but their are legacy apps running on them) and I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and might have some kind of monitoring template.  If not we were thinking about using powershell to configure it to check for a computers domain password and if it is close to expiring so we know that it might fall off the domain which would be more proactive.  The more reactive monitor that we are thinking about is to configure a windows log monitor alert to check the System log for a NETLOGON error tied to the RPC server unavailable.  The only problem with this is it happens after the server fell off the domain.   Thanks!!!
