Unexpected Web Console Error

Hi,

Does anyone know why the below error happens when running 'Settings\Network Discovery' in Orion Web Console?

"Unexpected Website Error

The connection string name is missing for the MySqlSiteMapProvider

(C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config line 272)

Please provide any proven fix for this.

That machine.config file handles system-wide configuration for ASP.NET. Orion does not modify it and also does not use MySql for anything. I think this file must have been modified on your system by some other application. I recommend you open the file, search for "MySqlSiteMapProvider" and see if you can figure out what application is responsible.

Fixed by adding following line in web.config in InetPub\SolarWinds path
<remove name="MySqlSiteMapProvider" />
"<siteMap enabled="true">
<providers>
<remove name="MySqlSiteMapProvider" /> "

I'm glad its working for you. Be careful though - this web.config edit will be overwritten on the next upgrade.
