Telnet should be enabled, if the Auto Determine is not picking up on it(provided the credentials are the same), you can setup a separate Connection Profile and change the profile to the Telnet option on those specific nodes.
Either Edit a Node and choose new profile in the NCM section towards the bottom. Or from NCM Settings Page click Manage Connection Profiles.
