I have gone through the Admin and Web guides. Admin of helpdesk for about 4 years. I would like to change the top tech banner color, remove items from the screen that we do not use like: flagged tickets, calendar, assets, parts.
I can see how to change the clients view and have done so. Just want a cleaner interface for the techs.

There really is no way to change the color - unless you are self hosted and want to really mess with the code (But of course every time you upgrade you have to start over). You can remove the assets tab by going under Setup > Assets > Options and un-checking the "Use Assets" box. I believe that you can do the same with the parts (Setup > Parts & Billing > Options > Parts & Billing Enabled box). I am not sure about the Calendar, though, as I didn't see an option for that.
While you can do some of what you are wanting, I think more tech/layout customization would be a huge improvement. I have been asking for a few years now for the ability to customize the tech bar and add or remove sections (like removing the flagged tickets, or adding certain queries) and there hasn't been any movement. It's one of the major pieces that is lacking compared to other help desk software.
Feel free to vote it up when you get a chance: Allow customization of the "My tickets," "Group Tickets"..Tech Bar & and the ability to add sections.
