Change Perfstack network unit of measurement

Hello,

I am trying to make a simple graph that shows the network usage for a virtual VPN appliance. When I look at the Node Details/Summary and under the Virtual Machine Details chart, there is a  "Network Usage 39.9mb/s". I am wanting to get graph for that specific stat in a NOC dashboard. When I open the performance analyzer, it is graphed there, but its in KB/s. I am wonder if A: Can I make a widget that just shows me the Network Usage for particular VM's, or B: Is there a way to change the unit in Perfstack so that it displays mb/s rather than KB/s?

Thank you in advance

  • Hello,

    A. Yes you can create a perfstack project which just shows the network usage for the VMs of interest. Start with an empty analysis project and add the required entities from there.

    B. No, it is not possible to set the units in perfstack.

Can you share a screenshot of which metrics you are using?

  • Thank you for the reply Tony.

I have tried two different things here. I have added the VM network usage rates (int/out/total) and there is also a feature for F5 appliances a the node level that is in/out AvgThroughput, however neither seem accurate to what the F5 dashboard shows. The most accurate is in the virtual machine details chart on the device summary page. The last screen shot is from the F5 stats dashboard on the F5 appliance itself.
